In 2005, Bruce DeYoung, a professor in the OSU College of Business, came to Printing & Mailing for some advice on print projects for Financial Stewardship Resources (FSR), the non-profit organization that his wife Kathy DeYoung founded. After several conversations with Bruce and Kathy regarding various print marketing options, Cheryl Lyons, P&M Associate Director, was impressed enough with the FSR mission to become a volunteer and eventually joined that nonprofit’s board of directors. A strong collaboration has resulted.

Financial Stewardship Resources is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that presents training to assist charitable, religious, and other nonprofit organizations in assessing and managing their financial risks.

P & M began providing supportive print and design services for FSR on a regular basis in May of 2005. Initial printing projects consisted of the FSR identity suite, including letterhead, notepads, envelopes, and a conference brochure.

In August 2005, we began designing a Web site for FSR. Once the Web interface was approved, our graphic design interns created matching designs for business cards, letterhead, and envelopes.

At regular intervals each year, we update the FSR conference brochure and the FSR Web site to reflect upcoming and current events. A print merge is performed on the brochure, with address information being added for several thousand recipients during the print process.

Some additional design/print projects have included a presentation folder, identity branding labels, conference signs with removable workshop titles, and imprinting on 3-ring binder covers.

Bruce and Kathy have been very responsible partners in this collaborative process, bringing both clarity of expectations and a profound reasonableness to the table. They have displayed patience with very occasional technological hiccups and appreciation for all our efforts in providing them with the highest possible quality in both product and service.

We very much appreciate the chance to support FSR in reaching out to thousands of non-profit organizations, so vital to our communities' health and stability. Knowing the good work that comes from the products we produce for these groups adds to the satisfaction of this valuable partnership.
