Tab Printing Guide

Sample of Tabs

Do

  • Use this guide to set up the tab margins.
  • Leave 1/4" on each side of the tab field and 1/10" at the top of the tab.
  • Locate the center point of each tab. They are as follows: 1 1/2", 3 1/2", 5 1/2", 7 1/2" and 9 1/2" from the top edge of the original.
  • Put each tab on a separate sheet of paper.
  • One bank of tabs should equal 5 sheets of paper.

Don't

  • Fill in the tab field to the edge.
  • Guess on the dimensions. Please follow this guide for best results, but please remember this page is not to scale - go by the measurements!
  • Attempt to fit too many characters on the tab. Use up to 12 characters with 12 point type, or up to 14 characters with 10 point type.
